The 24-hour countdown: why you need to act now
When someone posts a Story on Instagram, a 24-hour clock starts. After that time, Instagram permanently removes the file from its servers. No tool — not even instago — can recover an expired Story. The only window to download is while the Story is still active.
This applies to: cooking recipes shared as Stories, travel moments, event announcements, limited-time discount codes, and any content you want to keep for later.
How to download Instagram Stories with instago
Open the Story on Instagram
Find the Story you want to save while it's still active and visible on the profile.
Copy the link
Tap the three dots (···) on the Story or copy the profile URL from your browser's address bar.
Paste into instago and download
Go to instago.site/en/download-instagram-stories.html, paste the link and tap "DOWNLOAD". The file (MP4 video or JPEG photo) saves directly to your device.
Can I download Story Highlights?
Yes! Highlights are Stories that the creator saved permanently — they don't expire. You can download them at any time using the same process. Find the Highlight on the profile, copy the link, and paste it into instago.
Can I download Stories from private accounts?
No. instago only accesses content from public profiles. Private account Stories are protected and cannot be downloaded by any external tool. This is an intentional privacy protection that we fully respect.
